Seville
City

Duration

In this private visit for you and your party, we will discover the most interesting areas of Seville during a full day. We will visit the Royal Alcázar, the Cathedral of Seville, the Seville’s Old Jewish Quarter, now the Barrio de Santacruz, the area of the Iberoamerican Exposition of 1929, with the Plaza de España as the main site, the monumental area of the historic center and the Old Port of Indies, El Arenal.

We will begin the visit by crossing the Lion’s Gate of the Royal Alcázar, after which we will get to know the different buildings and styles that are found inside this complex of Arab origin. We will discover the Gothic Palace of Alfonso X el Sabio, the Mudéjar Palace of Peter I and also the rooms of the Casa de la Contratación (House of Trade), a Renaissance house that is closely related to the discovery and conquest of America. Later, we will also have time to enjoy its wonderful gardens.

After finishing the visit in the Reales Alcázares, we will head towards the Lizard Door (Puerta del Lagarto) of the Cathedral of Seville to access the now known as Patio de los Naranjos, once the Ablution Court yard of the Aljama Mosque in Seville. Inside the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, we will see the spectacular mahogany organs, the tomb of Christopher Columbus or the magnificent Altarpiece. Finally, we can enjoy the best panoramic view of the city from the bell tower of the Giralda, the old minaret of the mosque and that later the Christians changed for a bell tower.

We will make a short break in which the group can have lunch in a nearby bar after the rise to the Giralda and later we will walk to know the Seville’s Old Jewish Quarter, the current Santacruz neighborhood. There, we will know the particular relationship lived by Christians, Jews and Muslims in the city during the Late Middle Ages. To continue the visit we will take a walk to meet the spectacular Plaza de España, built by Aníbal González for the Iberoamerican Exposition of 1929. After enjoying the beauty of this construction that is the pride of Seville, we will walk through the area near the Guadalquivir River to continue knowing part of the historic center and its most interesting buildings, to finally reach El Arenal, where we will visit the Torre del Oro.
